AquaBead/AlphaONE PLUS System Assembly

When you receive your new system it will come on a pallet and ready to be opened and assembled. Through the years we have tried different methods of assembly and shipping to make this as easy and non stressful as possible for you the pond owner.
When we first started the preassembled filtration idea, we would mount everything on a pallet, hard plumb the pieces together as one unit, build a wooden crate around it to protect it during shipment. Just unload off of the truck and set in place, hook up a couple of pipes and you are ready to go. Sounds good doesn't it? Wrong!
Here's how it goes in the real world. Truck shows up with your new system. Driver knocks on the door, grandma answers the door, driver wants to know where the forklift is to unload the shipment. Grandma says "What forklift?". A couple hours later a few disgruntled neighbors show up to off load the 400 lb. shipment. If no one is home to help unload the system, the ticked off truck driver would sometimes push the shipment off of the truck and on to the driveway breaking the plumbing and equipment into little irreparable pieces. So, good idea, but doesn't work in the real world.
Here is what does work. We carefully custom fit each pipe and each piece of equipment together on an all weather, lifetime warranty pad using "hand tighten" unions. We then disassemble the system and pack in boxes for shipment.
When the system arrives it can be unloaded by the driver one piece at a time with the heaviest piece normally weighing not more than 50 lbs. except the 9.0 system which would have the heaviest piece at about 70 lbs. The rest of the boxes have weights of no more than 30 lbs. This makes it easy for one person to move the system into place one box at a time.
When you receive the system all you have to do is open the boxes and place the individual pieces on the pad.
Then hand tighten the unions into place and your done with the assembly.
Each side of the union is clearly marked with a number.
All you do is hand tighten the unions in a "like number to like number" such as 1 to 1 and 2 to 2 , etc. Takes just a few minutes.
This is the best way we have found to make this easy to assemble, easy to move and maintain.
This is how the unions look. Each side is marked with a number. Hand tighten the unions together with "like number to like number".
Let's walk through it one step at a time. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, let's look at some.
STEP 1: Set the all weather pad on the ground in a level area. |
STEP 2: Set filter to the far left of the pad. (If your system will include the optional AquaSieve, the AquaSieve goes here with the AquaBead filter next to it, to the right). |
STEP 3: Set the UV on the right side at the back of the pad.
|
STEP 4: Set pump at front of pad to the right. (Since you have your choice of other pumps, your pump may not look like this one).
|
STEP 5: Hand tighten the Multiport valve assembly to the front of the AquaBead filter. No glue or tools are required for this.
|
STEP 6: Hand tighten the pipe that goes from the pump outlet to the multiport valve. It is clearly marked where it connects to.
|
STEP 7: Hand tighten the pipe that connects the multiport to the UV base. The pipes and openings are clearly marked where they go. |
STEP 8: This is where you pour the beads into the filter opening at the top of the filter. Then tighten the dome top with the special wrench that comes with the filter.
|
STEP 9: Set the Bead Agitator on top of the clear check valve assembly. Do not glue this on! If you want to attach it use a stainless steel screw to secure it in place. Most of the time it stays put by just pushing it on to the pipe. |
STEP 10: Screw the ALISS valve into place.
|
Your PLUS system is now complete. All you have to do is hook up the line coming from the pond to the inlet of the pump, the line back to the pond from the UV outlet and the waste line to waste.
